5. Harmonic Filters
These harmonic filters are specifically designed to address the challenges associated with the fifth harmonic, providing essential protection for reactive power compensation components, devices, and machinery operating within the system against the detrimental effects of harmonics.
These filters find extensive application in various industries, including:
-
Textile manufacturing facilities,
-
Operations involving induction furnaces,
-
Electric vehicle charging stations,
-
Factories engaged in aluminum injection processes.
In enterprises characterized by elevated voltage harmonics and fluctuating load conditions, using standard harmonic filters often results in damage due to heightened harmonic levels. Consequently, the associated compensation capacitors may also fail, increasing the risk of resonance within the system.
Designed explicitly for harmonic mitigation, these filters, like conventional filters, consist of inductance coils integrated in series with compensation capacitors.
